The BundesForum Kinder- und Jugendreisen e. V. is the amalgamation of nationally active associations, sponsors and organizations that are active in the field of children and youth travel. The joint work is characterized by diversity, openness, mutual enrichment and equal communication. The aim is to promote, develop and strengthen travel for children and young people. The primary focus of work resulting from this goal is quality, professional exchange and representation of interests.
organization
The BundesForum Kinder- und Jugendreisen e. V. has 21 (as of 2019) leading associations as members. The association is recognized as a non-profit organization and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth . Primarily non-profit organizations with a nationwide field of activity can acquire the status of a member.
The association is a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), International Social Tourism Organization (ISTO) and Working Group for Child and Youth Welfare (AGJ).
Projects
Two quality assurance projects are being carried out at the federal level:
- Quality Management for Children and Youth Travel for Accommodation (QMJ) : Children and youth accommodation arechecked for safety and comfortby external auditors . There are big differences in child and youth accommodation in Germany. So far (as of 2009) around 300 child and youth accommodation has been trained and checked through the project. The seal is recognized by the German Tourism Association as the standard for German children and youth accommodation. All qualified and certified accommodations can be found on gruppenhausfinder.de.
- QMJ SafeGood! Framework conditions for the travel companion : "How good is the support for leisure activities?" is the central question of parents whose children go to a supervised holiday camp, for example. A new, uniform evaluation system for the framework conditions of the travel companion provides insight - and last but not least serves as an aid to quality control for the travel provider himself. The BundesForum Kinder- und Jugendreisen e. V. developed the assessment procedure together with cooperation partners. Quality standards were defined for the organization, implementation and supervision of a trip for children and young people.
Events
The formats of the offers for children, adolescents and young adults are very different, as well as the challenges that children and youth accommodation and organizers of children and youth trips face. In addition to quality management, the BundesForum Kinder- und Jugendreisen offers a platform for cross-agency discussions and innovations. A common concern is, in particular, quality assurance and professional exchange. Organizations and accommodations have the opportunity to network and take part in regular training courses and events such as:
- Round table of accommodations
- Nationwide coordination group 'Inclusive Children and Youth Travel'
- Personnel and Pedagogy Working Group
- Alliance for school and class trips
- Quality working group
- further qualification offers in the field of child and youth travel
