Federal cup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Federal cups were given at the beginning of the 20th century, for example by cycling associations, to members as an incentive for participation in association life and special achievements. This included the recruitment of new members, participation in the joint district, district and federal exits or the " early entry " with z. B. 25 association members at the annual federal festival .

At the request of the Federal General Assembly of the Lusatian Cyclists Association , it was determined, for example, in 1913 that (from 1914) "a maximum of 50 federal cups for federal and district trips " will be issued. The federal cups were allocated to the members according to a point system. In 1913 the LRB awarded two points for three federal exits , one point for four district exits and ten points for " Sa. " (Saalfahrt?), The meaning of which is not explained in the Deutsche Radler-Post . The manufacture and annual distribution of the popular federal cups was probably a major effort for the cyclists' association. At the LRB federal festival in Bretnig in 1913, 65 federal cups were given to the participants in the district and district trips.

Research is still being conducted into whether the federal cups were awarded directly during a trip by the Saxon Cyclists' Association .
