The Federal Training Institute for Elementary Education Linz is an educational institution for elementary education in Linz .

particularities

From the 3rd grade onwards, students are offered the optional subject Teaching English at Nursery for one year with two hours per week.

Students who choose CLIL as their main focus are taught using English as their working language. This means that parts of the material in some subjects are taught in English. Not all subjects are taught in English, only individual selected chapters are supplemented by the English technical language. Examples of subjects taught partly in English are geography, history, movement education, guitar, flute, art education and works of art. The written or oral performance reviews are carried out in German and English and can be answered in German or English, as the students prefer. It is also possible to switch between the two languages. English grammar and spelling are not included in the assessment.

In 2015, the school was awarded the Austrian School Prize in the category of gender equality with 3rd place.
