Federal Research Institute for Nature Conservation and Landscape Ecology
The Federal Research Institute for Nature Conservation and Landscape Ecology was the state national authority for nature conservation in Germany. It existed from 1962 to 1993 and then became part of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). It was an institution under public law with no legal capacity in the portfolio of the Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety .
The Federal Research Institute was formed in 1962 from the Federal Institute for Vegetation Mapping in Stolzenau and the Federal Institute for Nature Conservation and the like. Landscape management in Bad Godesberg as the Federal Institute for Vegetation Science, Nature Conservation and Landscape Management in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. In 1976 it was renamed the Federal Research Institute for Nature Conservation and Landscape Ecology.
