The Federal Association of German Insurance Merchants e. V. (BVK) is an association of professional representatives and entrepreneurs for independent insurance and building society agents.

history

It was founded in 1901. Between 1934 and 1945 it was called the Insurance Agents and Insurance Brokers Section . 1945–1960 was called the Verband Wirtschaftsverband Versicherungsvermittlung . In 1960 the name was changed to the current name. Since 1977, one of the tasks of the association has also been to protect the interests of building society representatives . The Common House was founded in 1998 , in which BVK, the Working Group of Representatives Associations of the German Insurance Industry (AVV) and representative associations work together.

membership

Anyone who is a full-time self-employed insurance or building society broker and who recognizes the professional rules of the association and observes its guidelines can become a member of the BVK. This includes single company agents, multiple agents and brokers . The association currently has around 13,000 members.

Since the establishment of the Joint House , more than 60 representative associations have become members of the BVK.

The aim of the association is to perceive and promote the professional, economic, legal and social concerns of the independent insurance brokers.
