Federal Association for Natural Gas, Petroleum and Geoenergy
The Federal Association for Natural Gas, Petroleum and Geoenergy e. V. ( BVEG ) is a trade association representing German natural gas and oil production companies , the service and supply companies working for them, and the operators of underground storage facilities . The association is also a collective bargaining partner with two collective bargaining communities.
The area of responsibility ranges from energy policy, economic, social, tax and legal issues to technical and environmental issues to informing the public.
Statutory bodies are the general assembly and the board of directors. The members of the BVEG produce crude oil and natural gas in Germany and also in other countries or provide services in the field of crude oil and natural gas production. The association has 85 members (beginning of 2018). The CEO is Martin Bachmann ( Wintershall Holding GmbH ). The two vice chairmen are Florian Barsch ( ExxonMobil Production Deutschland GmbH ) and Frank Holschumacher ( Uniper Energy Storage GmbH ).
history
The association was founded under the name Wirtschaftsverband Erdöl- und Erdgasgewinnung eV ( WEG ) on December 18, 1945 in Hanover . As part of the 2016 annual conference, following the presentation of the fundamental strategic realignment of the association, the name was changed to the Federal Association for Natural Gas, Petroleum and Geoenergy ( BVEG ).
