Federal Association of Mineral Raw Materials

The Federal Association of Mineral Raw Materials e. V. (MIRO) is the interest group for the German stone industry based in Duisburg and Berlin . He represents the interests of the natural stone, gravel, sand and quartz sand industries on a national and European level. The association represents around 1,600 companies that operate around 2,700 plants.

Today's federal association emerged from the merger of the Federal Association of Natural Stone Industry (BVNI) based in Cologne and the Federal Association of the German Gravel and Sand Industry (BKS) based in Duisburg. The associations merged in 2011 to form the Federal Association of Mineral Raw Materials. Today he is the only national representative for the interests of the entire German stone industry.

The association's president is Gerd Hagenguth (also managing director of RMKS Rhein Main Kies und Splitt, Duisburg).

In addition to research in numerous specialist groups in the field of the stone industry, MIRO is politically committed to the interests of its branch and is a supporting member of the Forum Natur action alliance .
