The bvse Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal e. V. is an association of companies that are active in the collection, processing, marketing, recovery, recycling and environmentally friendly disposal of waste.

history

In 1949 it was founded as "Altpapierverband eV". In 1969 it was renamed “Bundesverband Papierrohstoffe eV”. In 1993, the field of activity was expanded and the name was changed to “Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal eV” (bvse).

purpose

According to its own statements, the purpose of the association is to perceive and promote common ideal, economic and social interests; He represents these vis-à-vis the legislature and administration, upstream and downstream economic levels and the public. The association is to represent the members in higher-level economic associations. Its task is to advise the members on general economic issues, to promote its members through suitable measures and to raise their level of performance and to maintain relationships in the international specialist organizations.

The Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal eV represents the interests of approx. 660 member companies, primarily medium-sized companies that employ around 50,000 people, and is therefore the leading umbrella association for medium-sized secondary raw materials, recycling and waste management. The seat of the association is in Bonn .

Bernhard Reiling has been President of the bvse since 2012. Eric Rehbock has been managing director since January 2007.

aims

The Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal stands for the preservation of the environment and the protection of raw material reserves. He advocates the maintenance of functional material cycles, high-quality recycling, the creation and maintenance of open markets, reliable partners in the collection, processing and marketing of secondary raw materials, a high quality and qualification standard in the waste management industry, uniform law enforcement and harmonized international Environmental standards. He is against monopolies, fake privatization and environmental dumping.

tasks

The association represents its member companies on all relevant issues relating to the recycling and waste management industry at international, European and national level. It informs and advises parliaments and governments at European, federal and state level on legislation. The monthly magazine “RecyAktuell” and the bvse secondary raw material market report provide information on current developments. In addition to holding its own conferences and congresses, the bvse represents member companies at trade fairs and events.

The bvse is the organizer of the bvse annual conference, the international waste paper day, the international waste plastic day, the industry forum with the electrical (electronic) waste equipment day and the scrap forum as well as the hazardous waste forum.

activities

The bvse is the sole shareholder of bvse-recyconsult GmbH, Bonn. The respective executive committee of the bvse represents the partner. The task of bvse-recyconsult GmbH is to offer comprehensive training in all technical and legal issues relating to recycling and waste disposal. For this purpose, courses, courses, workshops and congresses are held in the bvse's education center.
