The Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft eV ( BSW ) is an interest group of around 800 solar technology companies from the areas of production, trade and handcraft based in Berlin .

The association supports its members with legal questions, provides information about funding programs and is committed to creating and securing suitable political framework conditions. The aim is to bring solar energy to the market quickly in the electricity and heat sectors and to make it competitive with other, primarily fossil fuels, as quickly as possible.

According to its own information, the association tries to ensure a positive corporate and industry image and would like to give its members market advantages through a knowledge advantage. To this end, he regularly provides publications on internal market data, company information, study and sales recommendations. Around 1000 publications of the association appear annually.

In 2007 the association initiated the “Week of Sun and Pellets” advertising campaign, which, according to its own information, is Germany's largest solar campaign. With the support of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety , the BSW provided extensive information material at over 5000 events in Germany in 2009.
