The Federal Association of System Floors e. V. (abbreviated BVS) is a Düsseldorf- based branch agency for companies in the system flooring industry in Germany. It is open to members from other European countries. The current members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are companies for the sales and assembly or installation of system floor constructions as well as manufacturers of system floor components.

Tasks of the association

The association's tasks include bundling and moderating interests with regard to the development of material components, construction methods and the implementation of system floors. In the constant exchange between the general assembly and internal working groups, topics relating to technology, standardization, regulations, market-relevant aspects, public relations, etc. are discussed, results are determined in resolutions and agreed measures are implemented in actions.

Members authorized by the association represent the BVS in external specialist committees, where they make their contribution to the updating of regulations and standards.

In addition, the BVS sees itself as an information center for all people and groups interested in the subject.

Personnel structure of the BVS

General assembly: The general assembly of the association consists of the full members and the cooperative members. Board of Directors, Management: The association is led by a five-member board of directors with a chairman at the head of this body and the association. A managing director organizes the association's activities and moderates the content within the association and is the contact person for external communication. Committees: Other committees that are recruited from the general assembly are the technical committee and project-related working groups. For their part, they report on the development of the state of affairs in their departments, take up ideas and suggestions from the plenary meeting to continue their work and prepare the basis for decision-making.

Contribution to regulations

DIN EN standards: As part of the technical and economic development of system floors, the BVS develops administrative and technical principles that are incorporated into the process of European standardization for EN 12825 raised floors and EN 13213 hollow floors. In VOB / C DIN 18340, the execution principles for the interior finishing trades and, among other things, for raised and cavity floors were specified. Application guidelines: The standards EN 12825 raised floors and EN 13213 hollow floors are test and classification standards in which performance criteria for technical properties are specified in classes and uniform test procedures are regulated for system floors. The requirements for the usability and roadworthiness of system floors are derived from the application guidelines for these standards. The task of drafting, updating and introducing application guidelines for system floors in the Federal Republic of Germany is carried out with the involvement of specialist and public circles. Leaflets: The integration of system floors into the room construction as well as the development of the material and construction of the system floor components have turned the design, planning, tendering and execution into a challenging engineering task. BVS publishes leaflets so that you can keep track of planning-relevant, liability and building control aspects.

Support from project participants

The BVS supports planners, executors, builders and interested parties.

public relation

In order to bring the spectrum of knowledge about system floors and the related issues closer to a large specialist audience, the BVS carries out appropriate media work in relevant specialist publications.

So that students in the specialist fields of construction already develop a structural understanding of system floors, the BVS started in 2012 to bring this topic to universities in the form of lectures.

Certification of conformity

The conformity certification is an instrument for the quality assurance of system floors. The BVS supports the conformity certification. All member companies are required to undergo this conformity certification (SFE)

BVS central register of general building inspection test certificates for system floors

The BVS offers an open central register in which every system floor manufacturer and provider can submit their general building inspection test certificates upon request. As there is no comparable public register, the BVS has taken on the task of managing and maintaining this register.
