The Bundesverband E-Commerce und Versandhandel Deutschland eV (BEVH, in its own spelling "bevh") is a German industry association of online and mail order companies based in Berlin. More than 500 companies belong to the BEVH. These include mail-order companies with a joint catalog and internet offer, pure internet retailers , teleshopping companies, pharmacy mail-order companies, salespeople on online marketplaces and mail-order companies with a home in stationary trade . In addition to the senders, more than 150 service providers are connected to the BEVH.

With an increase of 11.4 percent to 65.1 billion euros, gross sales with goods in e-commerce continued to grow in double digits in 2018. Pure e-commerce sales therefore represent more than one in eight euros in retail.

The association represents the industry interests of the senders vis-à-vis the legislature as well as institutions from politics and business. The core tasks of the industry association include informing members about current developments and trends, organizing the mutual exchange of experiences and providing expert advice. In addition, the association offers services that support the members in their day-to-day business. This includes seminars, working groups and networking with senders colleagues. Legal advice (e.g. on the provisions of distance selling law) is one of the services that the bvh provides to its members.

In cooperation with the EHI Retail Institute from Cologne, the association awards the “Approved Online Shop” seal of approval for internet shop operators. The award is intended to guarantee that the quality requirements of the association have been met and the relevant legal provisions have been implemented. In addition, the association has developed a data protection seal with Datenschutz Cert. The data protection seal of approval is specially tailored to e-commerce processes and is intended to help companies stand out from the competition.
