The Federal Association for Country & Western Dance Germany eV (BfCW) is an association based in Dortmund . history

On June 2, 1996 the German Country & Western Dance Association (GCWDA) was founded. From the beginning, the GCWDA has organized dance trainer seminars every month, at which national and international guests, such as B. Barry Durand, Max Perry, Rob Fowler, Judy McDonald, Brian Barrakauskas were invited.

The GCWDA made it possible for its members to take the first dance trainer exams under the National Teacher Association in June 1999. Since August 31, 2002, the Federal Association for Country and Western Dance Germany eV, a professional association with special tasks in the German Dance Sports Association and the DOSB . Country and western dance had become an officially recognized popular and competitive sport. In 2004 the BfCW presented the “1. German Championship in Country & Western Dance ”, recognized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

Members

About a tenth of the members of the BfCW are competition dancers, the majority of the remaining members are amateur and amateur athletes.
