Federal Association for Country & Western Dance Germany
The Federal Association for Country & Western Dance Germany eV (BfCW) is an association based in Dortmund . It spreads and unified the country and western - Dancing in Germany and promotes contacts of clubs and dancers themselves. This is mainly done by teaching about all country and western dance related issues and creating guidelines.
activities
The association holds monthly dance trainer seminars (TTS) to standardize and disseminate a generally applicable terminology, it also trains trainers and trainers, tournament directors and judges and it awards sports tournaments and championships in the various competitive sports of country and western dancing or do it yourself. In addition, he coordinates all activities related to country & western dance.
The licensing for dance coaches in country & western dance sport takes place under the leadership of the BfCW and takes place according to the specifications of the DOSB.
history
On June 2, 1996 the German Country & Western Dance Association (GCWDA) was founded. From the beginning, the GCWDA has organized dance trainer seminars every month, at which national and international guests, such as B. Barry Durand, Max Perry, Rob Fowler, Judy McDonald, Brian Barrakauskas were invited.
The GCWDA made it possible for its members to take the first dance trainer exams under the National Teacher Association in June 1999. Since August 31, 2002, the Federal Association for Country and Western Dance Germany eV, a professional association with special tasks in the German Dance Sports Association and the DOSB . Country and western dance had become an officially recognized popular and competitive sport. In 2004 the BfCW presented the “1. German Championship in Country & Western Dance ”, recognized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation.

aims
- The maintenance and promotion of Country & Western dance as well as the creation and dissemination of guidelines and competition conditions.
- The organization of dance sport events and workshops to spread and standardize country western dancing in Germany to promote contacts between clubs and dancers.
- To promote the youth work of its members in the spirit of the German Sports Youth.
- Conducting dance trainer seminars with often international dance trainers.
- The education and training of instructors and coaches, tournament directors and judges, whose rules are based on the guidelines of the German Dance Sports Association (DTV).
- The allocation and implementation of sports tournaments and championships in the various competitive sports of country and western dancing.
- The coordination of all activities around the country & western dance sport.
- Assistance with the founding of country & western dance sports clubs, as well as information about the rights to grants, discounts, subsidies for dance coaches, investment aid, promotion of youth work, provision of training opportunities at the municipalities, sports awards and much more.
- The representation of Country & Western dance sport in its national and international affairs and the settlement of related issues for the benefit of its members.
Members
About a tenth of the members of the BfCW are competition dancers, the majority of the remaining members are amateur and amateur athletes.
