TraiNex is a web-based campus management system . It is one of the most widely used university information systems in Germany . The TraiNex is operated and further developed by the Trainings-Online Gesellschaft für E-Portale mbH based in Bielefeld .

history

The TraiNex goes back to a research project by the Bertelsmann Foundation to introduce the Internet in teaching in 1995 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Based on this idea, a team led by the economist Stefan Bieletzke developed the TraiNex by the year 2000. It is the first web-based campus management system that was developed in Germany. The first users in 2001 were the Administration and Business Academy in Münster and the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM).
