The Federal Association of Higher Professions in Technology, Business and Design (formerly the Federal Association of State-Certified Technicians) is a professional association and registered association .
The task is to represent all state-certified technicians, business economists and designers and the students at these technical schools in all professional and socio-political matters in Germany and Europe. State-certified technicians, business economists and designers are professional groups whose job description is subject to constant change due to the continuous progress of technology and the ongoing development of the economy.
history
The association was founded in 1974 through the merger of several professional associations. In 2005 the BVT opened for state-certified business economists and designers. This enables the BVT to campaign for the professional and socio-political goals of all technical school graduates in public, politics and business.
structure
The association is divided into more than 20 district associations. Regional contacts in the district associations are in constant contact with the members and observe the professional and socio-political developments in the respective region. The BVT is internationally active through the establishment of district associations abroad. The diagram opposite shows the structure of the BVT.
organization
- District Associations
The association is divided into district associations. The district associations provide the essential impetus for association work and opinion-forming. The chairman is responsible for the management of the district association in accordance with the provisions of the statutes and the requirements arising for the association. According to its size, the district association sends delegates who elect the federal board at the general assembly.
- federal Association
The organs of the federal association are the general assembly and the federal committee meeting.
- General meeting
The general assembly is the supreme body of the federal association and usually meets every three years. It finally decides on the affairs of the federal association.
- Federal Committee
The federal committee usually meets once a year. The tasks of the federal committee include the preparation of the general assembly as well as advising the federal executive committee on all matters of the federal association.
- Federal Executive
The federal executive committee consists of the chairman and his deputy. The chairman and the deputy are elected by the general meeting. Only members of the federal association are eligible. The federal chairman and the deputy chairman represent the association in and out of court according to § 262 BGB.
- Main management
The federal executive board proposes the general manager for the management, who has to be confirmed by the general assembly. The general manager is to be invited to all meetings of the organs of the federal association. This function is z. Currently dressed by Gerard Wolny.
- Advisory Board
The federal executive board appoints an advisory board made up of professionally qualified persons who support the association's goals in a special way. The advisory board members can be invited to all general assemblies and to all meetings of the federal committee.
aims
The association has the following goals:
- a nationwide advancement training
- recognition as qualified, practice-oriented specialists and executives at home and abroad
- Anchoring the building submission authorization in all federal states for state-certified construction technicians
- a position in the public service that corresponds to further training and qualifications
- Inclusion in regulations exempting trade tax for the exercise of freelance activities
- an adequate job title:
- State-certified technician, Bachelor professional
- State-certified business economist, Bachelor professional
- State-certified designer, Bachelor professional
The BVT therefore influences educational policy and legislative measures in the professional and training field of all technical school graduates.

As of 2019, in view of the latent shortage of skilled workers, the BVT will be holding so-called "regional technician days" with the aim of offering companies and skilled workers a communication platform.
