The Buran 1.02 ( GRAY index 11F35 K2) is a space shuttle of the Soviet Buran program , which is outwardly similar to the US space shuttle . Due to the premature termination of the program, there was no start.
history
The construction of Buran 1.02 was finished in 1990, although some systems were still missing here as well. The degree of completion of the space shuttle was given as about 95%. Except for the name Buran 1.02, it had no official name, but was unofficially called Ptitschka ( Russian Птичка for little bird ) or Buran-2 .
Scheduled missions
Flight plan from 1989:
- 4th quarter 1991 - unmanned first flight, mission designation: 2K1, one to two days duration, payload: module 37KB
- 1992 - unmanned second flight, mission designation: 2K2, seven to eight days duration, payload: module 37KB. Orbital maneuvers and approach to the Mir space station .
In 1991, missions 2K1 and 2K2 were practically merged:
- December 1991 - unmanned flight (first flight?), Seven to eight days duration, orbital maneuvers and attempted approach to the Mir space station:
- automatic docking to the Mir crystal module
- Crew transfer from the Mir to the space shuttle and testing of some systems, including the robot arm, for several days
- Decoupling and unmanned orbit flight
- Coupling to Soyuz TM-101
- Crew transfer from Soyuz to the space shuttle and work of the crew on board for several days
- Automatic uncoupling and landing
