Bureau International de l'Heure
The Bureau International de l'Heure (BIH) at the Paris Observatory was the international body responsible for comparing the various measurements of Universal Time .
history
The founding was decided in 1912 at the Conférence internationale de l'heure radiotélégraphique .
In 1987 the comparison of measurements of the Universal Time was taken over by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures and the tasks of the BIH in the area of time correction were transferred to the International Service for Earth Rotation and Reference Systems.
