Cracau Castle

The castle Cracau is an Outbound Wasserburg in the Bismarck area (between Uerdinger- and Cracauerstraße) of Krefeld district Cracau in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The castle was built around 1400 and changed hands several times in the 15th to the 16th century through inheritance, pledging or armed conflict. In 1677, the last Orange, Wilhelm III. of England grind the castle because of its lost military importance .

In the second half of the 18th century, a castle was built at the castle site , which was destroyed in 1943 in the course of the Second World War.
