The castle Lanzenkirchen is an Outbound Wasserburg west of Schleinzerkreuz and south of Lanzenkirchen on the southern bank of the Leitha in the church today Walpersbach in Lower Austria .
The castle was built in the first half of the 12th century and fell into disrepair in the 16th century. Remains of the castle, known in documents, were discovered with different cultural layers from the 12th to 15th centuries in 1977. From 1988 to 1989 rescue excavations were carried out and in 1992 large-scale investigations were carried out. Today a slight elevation in the terrain of the main castle and to the east of it low wall remnants can be seen. There is no longer any rising masonry from the former moated castle.
