The castle wall of Neu-Kentzlin is a ground monument in Neu-Kentzlin , a district of the municipality of Kentzlin in the Mecklenburg Lake District . The Slavic ramparts lay on the western edge of the Tollenser area . Today it is located approx. 250 m west of the village of the same name. It was built quite early on on a natural oval hill and over the centuries it was continually raised and expanded, so that in the end it reached a considerable height. It bears a great deal of resemblance to the systems at the same time in the village of Mecklenburg or Raddusch in the Spreewald.
The weir system was 100 × 90 m in size and had only one entrance gate to the south. There is no record of who has once lived here. It can be assumed that the complex was used as a refuge in its early days and then developed into a local prince or cult castle over time. Today there are regular festivals of the village population in the wall. The hilltop castle has been very well preserved.
