Burgwall Weinberg-Waldsiedlung

The Burgwall Weinberg-Waldsiedlung , a district of the city of Nauen in the Havelland district in Brandenburg , is the stables of a Slavic Niederungsburg , a Slavic castle wall .

The ground monument is a good 700 meters east of the village in the middle of the field. Due to the long agricultural use of the site, the castle wall has been almost eroded. A small remnant of the wall is still in the eastern area of the castle complex. The oval castle had a diameter of 125 meters and was one-part. Such systems existed in the Old to Middle Slavic period from the 8th to 10th centuries and were used by the population as places of retreat in times of need. The former residents are likely to have belonged to the Heveller tribe .
