Burtonwood and Westbrook is a civil parish in the English Unitary Authority Warrington in the North West England region . In 2001 it had 11,265 inhabitants.

history

With industrialization, Burtonwood's population grew from 990 in 1861 to 2,408 in 1911. The place experienced even greater growth through the influx of military personnel after the opening of the air force base in 1940 (1951: 8,238 inhabitants). After the military was withdrawn in the 1950s, the population of Burtonwood fell to 4,899 in 1971. The civil use of the former military site and the establishment of settlements caused the population to rise again sharply (to currently over 11,000).
