Bush shirt
The bush shirt (also bush jacket) was created in the 1930s for sporty women and men. The casual shirt was modeled on the short-sleeved shirts of tropical clothing worn over trousers or skirts with their large breast pockets and bellows pockets on the sides. This forerunner of the casual, light, and informal leisurewear that emerged in the 1950s was made from coarse linen or gabardine and was worn with or without a belt.
After the Second World War , the colorful Hawaiian shirt adopted from the USA was also called the bush shirt in Germany .
