Gabardine pattern

Gabardine is a worsted fabric with a pronounced, steep twill - a ridge through diagonal weaves (steep, rib, twill) in a denser warp setting (out of round).

Pure wool worsted yarn, viscose worsted yarn , worsted warp and carded yarn weft , mixed yarns made of wool and synthetic fibers , half wool and cotton are used . The mostly bald-finished fabrics are processed into coats (mostly impregnated), suits, sports pants and dresses.

A gabardine with wide twill ridges is called a whipcord .
