history
Busseron Township was founded by French residents around 1810 during the American Revolution. It was named after the French resident François Riday Busseron.

According to a survey from 2010, the township has an area of 136 km². Of this, 134.2 km² (98.35%) is land and 2.2 km² (1.63%) is covered with water.
