The Cần-Thơ Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam . It is named after the largest city in the Mekong Delta, Cần Thơ . It is 2.65 km long and 26 m wide. The four-lane carriageway is located at a height of 39 m above the water level to allow ships to pass through.

Prime Minister Phan Văn Khải broke ground on September 25, 2004 , and the bridge should be completed by the end of 2008. On September 26, 2007, there was a serious accident when a 90 m long section of the access ramp, which is about 30 m above the ground, collapsed. Around 52 people were killed and 140 injured.

The bridge opened on April 24, 2010 and is currently the most expensive bridge in Vietnam at around 342.6 million US dollars.
