CASMU Sanatorio Dr. Carlos María Fosalba

The CASMU Sanatorio Dr. Carlos María Fosalba is a building in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo .

The building, which was built in 1949 as a result of a competition for its construction, is located in the Barrio Cordón on Calle Colonia 1936–1942, corner of Arenal Grande . A. Altamirano , F. Villegas and J. Mieres were responsible as architects . Inside the building, which houses the sanatorium 1 of the CASMU (Centro Asistencial del Sindicato Médico del Uruguay) , there is a mural by Augusto Torres , which has been classified as a Monumento Histórico Nacional since 1998 .
