CA 72-4

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CA 72-4 is a tumor marker (threshold value of approx. 4.6 U / ml in the serum), which allows the suspicion of a tumor disease. CA 72-4 is primarily associated with gastric carcinoma (therapy and progress control) and ovarian carcinoma (secondary marker), as well as with esophageal carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma and other tumors. This marker can also be elevated in the case of highly inflammatory processes (for example pancreatitis or pneumonia).
