CBHD

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CBHD (stands for China Blue High-Definition , Chinese  中国 蓝光 高清 光盘 ) is an HD video format developed in China that is said to be a more cost-effective alternative to the Blu-ray standard.

The cost advantage is said to be that CBHD can be produced in existing DVD production systems. The disadvantage compared to Blu-ray is a lower storage volume (30 gigabytes compared to 50 gigabytes for Blu-ray).

As the first western film studio, Warner Bros. is said to have committed itself to the CBHD standard.
