Carbonite-1 ( CBNT-1 ) is a technology trial satellite from Surrey Satellite Technology .

It was launched into low-earth orbit on July 10, 2015 at 16:28 UTC by a PSLV launcher from the Satish Dhawan Space Center rocket launch site (along with three DMC3 satellites).

The three-axis stabilized satellite is to test earth observation techniques and electronics for future satellites.
