DMC3 are three earth observation satellites belonging to the Disaster Monitoring Constellation .
They were launched into sun-synchronous orbit on July 10, 2015 at 16:28 UTC by a PSLV launcher from the Satish Dhawan Space Center rocket launch site (together with DeorbitSail-1 ).
The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with an optical telescope (VHRI-100) with a panchromatic resolution of one meter and a swath width of 24 km and is intended to be used for disaster surveillance and general surveillance tasks. It was built on the basis of the SSTL-300-S1 satellite bus from Surrey Satellite Technology and has a planned service life of seven years. The recording capacity was 100% leased from the Chinese company 21AT.
