Fcε receptor II ( FcεRII ) is a surface protein from the group of Fc receptors .

properties

Fcε receptor II is a type C lectin and binds immunoglobulin E (IgE) and complement receptor 2 (CD21). It also binds to MHCII and integrins . It is formed by B cells , macrophages , eosinophils , follicular dendritic cells and platelets and is involved in the regulation of the formation of IgE. The Fcε receptor II binds calcium ions and is glycosylated and palmitoylated . The extracellular area is called sCD23 after it has been released by ectodomain shedding .
