Lists on the subject |
The CIS 50MG is a heavy machine gun in the 12.7 × 99 mm NATO caliber developed in Singapore .
function
The CIS 50 is a gas pressure charger with a rotating head lock that locks into the barrel extension using several lugs. In contrast to most other gas pressure boosters, the CIS 50 has a double gas channel and piston. It is a firing weapon , which is also intended to prevent the cook off , the self-ignition of cartridges in the chamber.
Depending on the setting, the weapon can emit single or continuous fire. The belt feed is designed as a so-called 'dual feed', which means that different types of ammunition can be fired from two belts.
The barrel can be changed quickly, and maintenance in the field is also possible without special tools.
A reflex sight, but also a night vision device for target perception can be attached.
The weapon can be used for fire support, against infantry, light armored vehicles, boats and low-flying aerial targets, whereby it can be mounted on a tripod, light attack vehicles, armored combat vehicles, utility vehicles, helicopters and naval platforms.
It can fire all common 12.7 × 99 types of ammunition, including the M903 SLAP (saboted light armor penetrator), a sub-caliber impact projectile that can penetrate 25 mm RHA up to a kilometer away .
