CJWF-FM (Country 95.5 & 92-7) is a privately owned radio broadcaster based in Windsor , Ontario , Canada . The station broadcasts a current American Country Music format. The transmitter transmits with a power of 14 kW on the frequency 95.5 FM in Windsor and 92.7FM in Leamington, Ontario. The station is also received from northern Detroit to Lapeer County . The transmitter is operated by Blackburn Radio.

history

CJWF received the broadcasting permit on May 9, 2008. The station began with the test broadcasts on the night of September 22, 2009. At that time as a mix from country to rhythmic adult contemporary with short broadcast breaks. Broadcasting officially began on November 16, 2009 at 8 a.m. The first song played was "Welcome to the Future" by Brad Paisley .

On September 7, 2010, the station called itself "Country 95-9, The Motor Cities Country". The Radio Data System service was started on September 22, 2010. Between November 26th and December 26th, 2010 the station broadcast a Christmas Country during the holidays.

On July 31, 2012, due to budget cuts by Blackburn Radio, the sister station on frequency 92.7 took over the program from the main station.
