Brad Douglas Paisley (* 28. October 1972 in Glen Dale , West Virginia ) is an American country - singer and guitarist . It had 18 number one placements on the US country singles chart .

Life

Brad Paisley says his love for country music was sparked by his grandfather when he gave him his first guitar and taught him to play the guitar at the age of eight. At twelve, Paisley wrote his first song and at 13 he joined in the opening act of Ricky Skaggs and George Jones on. In 1999 his first album Who Needs Pictures was released . With his publications, he was able to reach 18 number one positions in the US country singles chart . With 25 songs, he has so far made it into the US pop charts , four of them in the top 30.

For the Disney / Pixar animated film Cars (2006) he wrote and sang the soundtrack song Behind the Clouds . In 2008 he was awarded a Grammy in the category "Best Country Instrumental Performance" ( Throttleneck ). In 2009 he received a Grammy for his song Letter to Me for "Best Male Vocal Performance - Country". At the 2010 CMA Awards he was named "Entertainer of the Year". He also contributed two songs to the film Cars 2 . On the one hand Nobody's Fool , which was also written by him, and on the other hand the duet with Robbie Williams Collison of Worlds .

Private

Paisley has been married to actress Kimberly Williams since 2003 , with whom he has two children. He is a member of the Freemasons Association .

Instruments

He plays folk guitars from Gibson , mainly J-45 models. In his honor, the company brought the Brad Paisley J-45 - signature guitar out. He plays on various electric guitars like the Crook Telecaster .

In 2017 he presented his signature model from Fender at the NAMM. A Telecaster in Road Worn Look, Siver Sparkle paintwork with nitrocellulose finish and a sandwich body made of spruce top and paulownia core and paisley pickguard. The Neck Pickup is a "Fender Twisted Single Coil" and the Bridge Pickup is a "Custom Brad Paisley Spec Vintage Single Coil". Equipped with an oiled maple neck with enhanced V profile.
