CKUA-AM

CKUA-AM was the oldest broadcaster in the CKUA network of public radio stations in Canada . The station was one of the oldest stations in Canada and was founded in 1927. CKUA was Canada's first public radio station and the first to broadcast an educational program. In 2013 the medium wave frequency was switched off. Since then, only CKUA-FM has continued to broadcast on VHF.

The station was originally located on the University of Alberta campus in Edmonton . It is broadcasting from studios in downtown Edmonton today. The medium wave transmitter was outside the city in a south-easterly direction.
