history

The Club Mutual Crucero del Norte was founded on July 19, 1989 in Garupá , a town with a little less than 30,000 inhabitants in the province of Misiones in northeastern Argentina . The association was founded by a long-distance bus company based in Garupá. The bus company also served as the namesake of the newly founded club, as it gave the club its own company name Crucero del Norte . The club not only has a football department, but also provides field hockey and tennis , among other things . The most successful nationwide, however, is the football department, which plays its home games in the Estadio Comandante Andrés Guacurarí , which has space for 15,000 spectators. The namesake (1778-1825) was Caudillo of the province of Misiones during his lifetime .

CM Crucero del Norte started out as a soccer team in deeply underclass Argentine soccer, with the focus initially on indoor soccer. Over the years, the club slowly worked its way up and took part in 2004 for the first time in the Torneo Argentino C, the fifth highest football league in the country. Immediately after a year, the march into the fourth division, the Torneo Argentino B. In June 2009, Crucero del Norte finally qualified for the first time for the third-class Torneo Argentino A and played there until 2012, before winning a playoff final over Guillermo Brown de Puerto Madryn for the first time in the club's history rose to the Primera B Nacional as the second highest soccer league in Argentina. There you held the class in the first year as fifteenth. The second division 2013/14 season ended CM Crucero del Norte in eighth place in the table and had very little to do with relegation.

As part of the reform of the Primera División , in which thirty instead of the previous twenty teams will start in the 2015 season, more promotion places became available in the Primera B Nacional 2014. As second in Zona B behind Unión de Santa Fe , Crucero del Norte even qualified directly for the following first division season and thus achieved the first promotion to the Primera División in the club's history. For this reason, the club expanded its stadium from 12,000 to 15,000 spectators. The coach of the promotion team was Gabriel Schürrer , who was sacked early in the 2015 top division and replaced by Sebastián Rambert . After this one season, however, Crucero del Norte rose again from the Primera División.
