The CR series SS7 ( Chinese  韶山 7 , Pinyin Shaoshan 7 ) are AC electric locomotives of the Chinese state railways with the wheel arrangement Bo'Bo'Bo ', which are intended for use in front of freight trains. The output of the SS7 is 4800 kW. The SS7 is a heavy six-axle electric freight locomotive and was designed and built by the CSR plant in Datong . Findings from the Japanese 6K series , which were used in China, were incorporated into the development .

A total of 113 type SS7 electric locomotives were manufactured for use in the mountainous terrain of the People's Republic, which, in addition to the gradients, can cope with the small curve radii with the aid of the Bo'Bo'Bo 'axle formula. The first SS7 locomotive was presented on December 30, 1992 and then sent to the Majiaoba depot for scheduled operation between March 1993 and December 1994. After the 200,000 kilometer test was completed, the results were incorporated into series production. In September 1995 SS7 was approved by the Ministry of Railways and went into production in 1999.
