CTV is a Belarusian television broadcaster for Minsk and the surrounding area. The name of the station is formed from the Cyrillic “С” (sharp S) for capital ( Russian столица ) and the Cyrillic “ТВ” (TW) standing for TV or television station ( Russian телевидение ). Literally translated, the full name means "capital city television" (officially Russian Столичное телевидение and abbreviated Russian СТВ or Belarusian СТБ ).
The station was founded on October 19, 2000 and has been broadcasting since January 2001.
Program and internet offer
CTV mainly produces news mixed with local information from public life.
The station maintains its own extensive website. Many parts of the program are available online on YouTube and the Russian media portal Vk.com , v. a. own video productions.
The language of the website is entirely in Russian, while the actual video program contributions are also in Belarusian.
