List of TV channels

C More HD was the first European HDTV feature film channel. Broadcasting began on September 1, 2005 and was bookable and receivable as pay TV on Canal Plus Nordic in the Scandinavian region. C More stands for the English short form of see more (dt. See More ) and HD stands for High Definition . A few months later the canal was replaced by Canal + HD .

Selected films from the program of the other SDTV versions of the Canal Digital Nordic film channels were shown as high-definition versions.

It was broadcast in HDTV standard with a resolution of 1080i (1920 × 1080 in interlace ) and a frame rate of 50 Hz . The sound was broadcast in at least Dolby Digital Stereo and, in the case of films with multi-channel sound, in Dolby Digital 5.1. The language version of the film, unlike, for example, on German television, is not dubbed but left in the original language. As usual, foreign films in Scandinavia are broadcast with subtitles . The DVB-S data stream contains subtitles in Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish so that these countries can be supplied with one broadcast. In contrast to the later followed HDTV channels from other European broadcasters, the newer and more efficient DVB-S2 transmission method and MPEG-4 as compression were not used, but DVB-S and MPEG-2 remained to accommodate older HDs on the market -Receiver for DVB-S and MPEG-2 support.

In addition, no copy protection mechanisms such as HDCP , which were used by the majority of other European HD broadcasters, were used.
