Caecilius Maior

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Caecilius Maior (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A military diploma dated March 23, 179, shows that Maior 179 was in command of the Cohors II Thracum , which was stationed in the province of Aegyptus at that time . The Centurio Caecillius, who is listed in an inscription and who served in the same Cohors II Thracum , should have nothing to do with the commander Caecilius.
