Caesonius Bassus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Caesonius Bassus was a politician during the Roman Empire . He is attested as consul of the year 317.

In earlier research, Bassus is still sometimes referred to as Junius Bassus . However, the correct name is Caesonius Bassus. At least four papyri reflect the name in this way. He was probably a son of Lucius Caesonius Ovinius Manlius Rufinianus Bassus , consul 284 or 285.
