Caffè Borghetti

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Borghetti is an Italian coffee liqueur .

history

Caffè Borghetti was invented in 1860, the year Italy was founded. In the 19th century in Italy espresso was often drunk cold in the Arabic style with a dash of alcohol. Signore Borghetti, a coffee merchant from Ancona, produced a special, own blend for his discerning clientele. This homemade mix was soon called "Caffè Borghetti" by customers.

In 1978 the Borghetti company was taken over by Fratelli Branca Distillerie SrL , known worldwide through the brands Fernet Branca and Fernet Brancamenta .

Manufacturing

This specialty is based on selected Arabica and Robusta beans, which are freshly roasted and ground. Classically real espresso is then immediately prepared, from which Borghetti Espresso Liqueur is created in a complex process that has been specially developed over 100 years. No colorings or flavor enhancing aromas are used.

Borghetti has an alcohol content of 25 % by volume . This applies at least to the 0.7 liter bottle usually available in Germany.

use

Caffè Borghetti can be enjoyed pure on the rocks, as a corretto , as a shot with cream, as a white Russian , as a long drink or with vanilla ice cream or in a tiramisu .

distribution

In Germany and Austria, distribution has been carried out by Eggers & Franke since 2019.
