Calenberg monasteries

The five monasteries in the Calenberger Land that are administered by the Hanover Monastery Chamber are referred to as Calenberg monasteries . The monasteries date from the Middle Ages and were mostly founded between the 12th and 13th centuries. They are mainly women's pencils. The monasteries are part of the General Hanover Monastery Fund, a public law foundation with ecclesiastical, social and cultural purpose.
