Calopteryx is a genus comparatively large small vial from the family of calopterygidae (Calopterygidae). The vividly colored males often have colored wings, while the less conspicuous females (with the exception of the androchromic - like males colored - females) mostly have transparent wings. There is no pterostigm in either sex. In Central Europe, the banded demoiselle ( Calopteryx splendens ) and the blue-winged demoiselle ( Calopteryx virgo ) are widespread, in southern Europe there are also the south-western demoiselle ( Calopteryx xanthostoma ) and the bronze demoiselle ( Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis ).
