Camfil (until 2012 Camfil Farr ) is a company in the field of clean air technology and air filter production. It has its own product development, R&D and regional representatives on all continents. The Camfil group of companies is the largest manufacturer of air filters in all particle filter classes , with a total of 30 production sites. Filter products for buildings, schools, museums, airports, hospitals, the food and nutrition industry, pharmaceutical industry, nuclear energy, chemical, petrochemical and automotive industries are developed, produced and sold.

history

The company was founded in 1963 by Gösta Larson as Camfil AB. In the same year, the company agreed a joint venture with Cambridge, USA. In the following time subsidiaries were established in Germany (1966), Switzerland (1969), Denmark (1972), Holland (1973), Belgium (1974), Italy (1975), France (1976), Finland (1979) and England (1982 ) founded.

With Jan Eric Larson, who was Chairman from 1983, Camfil took over the Irish company Allied Filters & Pumps in 1985 and the French Sofiltra and the American Filtra in 1989. After the founding of a Swedish and a Spanish subsidiary in 1995, further takeovers followed: 1997 Automet Filtration Ltd, England, 1998 Industrifilter AB, Sweden and 1999 Delcon Filtration Group Inc., Canada.

In 2000 the Australian Camfil Pty Ltd and the Polish Camfil Polska Sp.zoo were founded and the American Farr Co. was taken over. A year later, Alan O'Connell became CEO of the company and another subsidiary was established in New Zealand, in 2004 Camfil, Thailand. In the years that followed, the company built production and sales locations, including in Russia, Brazil, Mexico and Slovakia. In 2006, Australien Air Filters, Kaefer Raco and IF Luftfilter were taken over.

Products

The product range includes standard filters for air conditioning and ventilation technology through to highly specialized filters for applications that are extremely sensitive to air pollution. Camfil filters are used every day all over the world to filter pollutants of all types and in all particle sizes from the air with high efficiency.

The products are divided into the following areas of application:

  • Air conditioning and ventilation - protect people
  • Clean air processes - protects machines and production
  • Safety & environmental protection - protect our environment

The main product groups are coarse dust filters , fine dust filters , suspended matter filters , molecular filters , filter housings & assembly systems.
