John Dirks Canada Gairdner Global Health Award
The John Dirks Canada Gairdner Global Health Award is a science prize awarded annually in Toronto by the Canadian Gairdner Foundation . It was awarded for the first time in 2009 as a result of the Canadian government's support of the Gairdner Foundation in the amount of 20 million Canadian dollars (CAD).
The award is given to medical scientists whose work has brought about or can bring about a significant improvement in health in developing countries . It is endowed with 100,000 CAD.
