Candidatus magisterii

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Candidatus magisterii (female candidata magisterii ), abbreviated and usually as cand.mag. called, is a degree in Denmark and formerly in Norway . The degree is awarded after five years of study and is officially translated as Master of Arts in Denmark . Following the Danish model, the degree was also awarded in Norway until 2003, where it normally required a 4 to 5 year university education. The Swedish degree magisterexamen is the Danish and Norwegian candidatus magisterii equivalent.

The degree cand.mag. should not be confused with the Scandinavian, mostly 7- to 8-year-old research degree Magister (in Denmark and Norway in the 20th century mag.art. or mag.scient. ).
