Cannella (unit)

The cannella , literally cinnamon , was an Italian measure of length and the large canna . It was one of the older Genoese measures. It was used for foreign textiles ( linen products ), silk was excluded. As C.-quadrati or C.-cubit, the measure was used as a measure of area and volume.
