Cao hamburger
Cao Hamburger (* 1962 in São Paulo , Brazil ; actually Carlos Império Hamburger ) is a Brazilian film director , screenwriter and children's book author.
Hamburger was born in São Paulo as the son of the German-Jewish physicist Ernst Wolfgang Hamburger (1933–2018), who emigrated to Brazil in 1936, and the physicist Amélia Império Hamburger (1932–2011). Both were professors at the University of São Paulo . Cao Hamburger's film career began in the early 1980s when he made numerous Super 8 short films. In addition to short films , he staged over 200 commercials, designed video installations for children and television series on health care in his home country.
He gained fame primarily through his children's projects. He wrote several children's books and was responsible for various Brazilian television series for children as a director and screenwriter. In 1999 he made his highly regarded feature film debut with Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum, o films . In 2007, Hamburger's feature film The Year My Parents Were On Vacation (2006) was selected as the official Brazilian entry for the nomination for the best foreign language film at the 2008 Academy Awards.
