Capard House
Capard House ( Irish Teach na Ceapaí Airde ) is a Georgian country house near Rosenallis in County Laois , Ireland .
history
The mansion was built in 1798. Armand Henry Robert Pigott (1827–1886), married to Julia von Stürler , inherited Capard from his uncle John Pigott. His son Robert Edward Pigott († 1917) inherited Capard from his father, but could not pass the property on to his children due to his illegitimate relationship with Theresa Keogh. Instead, his sister Mary Ellen Pigott (1865-1928), married to Albert Adrian Eugen von Jenner (1857-1924), took over the property. In the next generation, Adrian Robert Charles von Jenner (1886–1970) owned Capard House, who bequeathed it to his son Robert Eduard Patrick von Jenner (1919–1982?). The property was acquired in 1990 by Dublin antiquarian John Farrington, who sold it again in 2014.
